275 Miles – Driver Sliding Door Wouldn’t Open or Close Electronically
I called the dealer about my issues so far and they had told me that I needed to bring the car in when it was having an issue. I tried to explain how the issues are always temporary and usually when I’m not able to go in. Well, one morning the driver sliding door on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (Yes, I keep saying that for SEO) wouldn’t open when I pressed the button (any of the 3 buttons). It just made a clicking noise. So I manually opened it. It wouldn’t close either automatically. Just clicking noise. There was a metal pin that pops out of its whole at the bottom of the door, something that the working door didn’t do. I was getting aggravated so I drove it straight to the dealer. I manually closed it but had to slam it to get it to close, it didn’t want to close all the way. I get to the dealer and didn’t want to turn it off or touch it without a tech watching. I tried to get one but *surprise* since I didn’t have an appointment, they couldn’t help. I talked to the manager and he wanted to schedule an appointment. I finally convinced him to look at it but of course, when I showed him it started working. *Frustration*
So, what else could I do? I made an appointment. This was a Wednesday, first available was Monday. I was leaving for Disney (3.5 hr drive) the next afternoon.
Unfortunately I didn’t get a video of this one since I drove straight to the dealer. I learned from that and recorded everything from here on out.
See https://www.pacificaforums.com/forum/474-chrysler-pacifica-minivan-issues-problems/32897-driver-side-sliding-door-3.html. Someone, apparently from Chrysler, said “Have your service department contact the STAR desk. There is a software update to correct the problem. I’m having the same problem with a 2017 Pacifica and will take it to the dealer next week.
