302 Miles – Turtle Icon, Speed Limited, FCW and other errors

This is where I got some really bad stuff, and felt unsafe in the car. I really started to feel uneasy about having my wife drive it. After the first turtle icon appeared, I looked it up online and saw that the 2017 Pacifica Hybrid was recalled because that light would come on on the highway and almost caused accidents. I didn’t want that to happen to us on our trip to Disney. I was stopped at the bank for maybe 15 mins and when I started the car, I got a plethora of errors.

  1. Tutle Icon, preventing acceleration and limiting top speed
  2. Forward Collision Warning inoperative
  3. Parking brake inoperative
  4. Lane Assist Inoperative
  5. Traction control inoperative

Pretty much every safety feature I bought this car for, not working. I turned the car off and on. Everything stayed the same. Turned off, waited longer, opened door. Started car and the turtle went away but all other errors stayed. One more full off, open door, on and everything finally went back to normal.

I called the dealer again and spoke to the manager. BTW, this dealer sucked. It was so hard to reach the manager. It didn’t matter much to them that they just sold me the car. They didn’t want to make exceptions or anything. They didn’t call back. This is where I started to really see the difference of being a Lexus vs Chrysler owner. Hell, my friend has a ford and he only has good things to say about the service center for his ford so this isn’t a luxury vs non issue.

Anyway, I had an appointment for Monday, this was now Thursday so I spoke to the manager and demanded that they do something. I was not driving this car anymore without some diagnostic. He agreed to have me come in and check to see what computer codes come back.

More on my service in the next post.

We started getting these errors as well. The car even shut off while driving. We have a service appointment on Friday.
