318 Miles – First service visit for issues

So I got in the morning of my trip, they plugged in the car and said it showed “Interference” codes. Manager said that they think it’s the dongle my insurance installed in the car. Only thing is, I didn’t have anyone install a dongle. I tell him I did no modifications at all. He goes back with a puzzled look and comes back with a black dongle in his hands. He says that the dongle is a dealer dongle, like a low jack, and that the dealer should have removed when they sold the car but didn’t. They removed it and gave me back the car. This visit was not logged as a service visit or in the computer at all.

Right away I noticed that when I got home the charging issue went away. This made me a bit hopeful. I had my weekend trip coming up and kept my Monday appointment in case anything else happened on the trip.
