1500 Miles, Waiting

1500 Miles, Waiting

While my car was in the shop it looks like they’ve put some miles on it testing, about 200 miles.

In the meantime, I keep getting calls each time the glass is supposed to arrive, pushing back the date. So far, they’ve pushed back these dates several times:

Original take given: December 31. Pushed back to Jan 2, then Jan 4, then Jan 10, Jan 17, Jan 24, now Jan 31.

So, it’s been in the shop since Dec 13 waiting for a new windshield. The reason I’ve been given is that it has to come from the manufacturer of the glass directly. But it’s surprising that they aren’t really able to provide a solid date and that they don’t have a few in stock.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I was really close to buying this car but now I am going to put my money on the 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. After having my trouble free prius for 12 years and only had to replace my EV battery after 140k miles which Toyota paid 80% for, I ended only paying 800.00 in service after 12 years. Toyota went above and beyond to help me even though the car was out of warrenty. I wanted to venture off to give Chrysler a shot but sounds like it’s going to be a money pit just like my Escalade, worst car ever. All the door handles fell off and I couldn’t get into the car…

I agree, car design was awesome but the company failed several times. I also had a toyota which never was in the shop. I’m back to my Lexus GX now which still works great, 0 issues.

What a nightmare! I am researching minivans and I think you just turned me off the Pacfica Hybrid! I’m sad because I really do want a hybrid. I do not however want to spend what little free time I have taking a car into the shop all the time. How horrible to get a new car and spend so much time at different shops and on the phone. Nice blog thanks!

Yeah, and the more I looked, the more people I saw with my same issues. Chrysler really dropped the ball on this one. I need Lexus or Volvo to make a Minivan for me to go that route again.

Curious how this ended. I just bought a lightly used 2018 hybrid and this has me a bit concerned.
